I finished reading Crying in H Mart: Book Review on Crying in H Mart

Currently I am taking a Asian-Pacific Studies at California State University, Dominguez Hills and I have to read the book Crying in H Mart. I recently finished reading Crying in H Mart and I have to give it Five Stars. The book is a memoir writed by Michelle Zauner. Michelle Zauner is the lead singer of the band Japanese Breakfast. Michelle explains her life as a Korean-American in the book and discribes her relationship with her mom. In the book after her mom loses her battle to cancer Michelle starts learning recipes and makes food that her mother would make when she was alive. Much of the groceries needed for the recipes would be found in H Mart. The way Michelle has writen in the book makes it sound in depth and real. I know what she wrote really did happen but I mean is even if you did not grow up experiencing what Michelle has been through it makes you really picture what happened and what she is saying. The book describes how Michelle had a difficult relationship with her mother but still called her mother her "champion". She describes to her what it is like growing up Korean-American and how she tried to to blend in when she was a teenager I give this book five stars for the writers honesty, in depth, and vulnerablity that was put into the book.
